Students Teaching English to Students

Currently there are about 360 students learning English in JGG classes

held after school, five days a week, 12 months a year.

In Cambodia the ability to speak English is essential for success at all working levels.  This includes the bellman and tuk-tuk taxi driver communicating with tourists, the student attending university where half the text books and most of the computer programs are in English, all the way up to business and government managers that must interact with suppliers, customers, government officials, etc. from neighboring and more distant nations.

Using JGG student teachers, 7th, 8th, and 9th grade students are provided with a free three-year English language program.   Poor, rural children, without a program like JGG’s, leave school having little or no English capability and very limited prospects.
